Nauset Marsh is one of the most beautiful places for kayaking along the East Coast and arguably in Massachusetts! Protected lands and protected water surround the marsh. It is located within the southern boundaries of the Cape Cod National Seashore, where kayakers find sweeping vistas of low marsh islands, narrow marsh channels, and abundant shorebird and marine life.
ACCORDING TO TRAIL.COM -
"The area’s beauty more than makes up for its frustrating hydrography" says Trails.com. "The fall of the tides exposes sandbars and raises wide islands of waving cordgrass, making navigation a challenge in this largely unmarked area. It is very easy to get lost in the maze, and a walk is likely at low tide."
That is why for more than 10 years the guides of Explore Cape Cod and Osprey Sea Kayak Adventures have guided over 3000 participants per year through this amazing natural beauty.
FROM CAPE COD LIFE MAGAZINE -
"To step into a kayak on Nauset Marsh is to step into 8,000 years of American Indian history and 400 years of Pilgrim tradition. Located within the boundaries of the Cape Cod National Seashore, Nauset Marsh is one of the largest salt marshes on the East Coast protected from the Atlantic Ocean by Coast Guard and Nauset Beaches. This very popular scenic estuary tour is perfect for the beginner or intermediate paddlers. Watch seals and shorebirds, peer into shallow waters for horseshoe crabs and sand dollars, glide and relax."
